Chinese Journal of Disease Control and Prevention (CJDCP) was founded in 1997, formerly known as Journal of Disease Control and Prevention. In 2008, it was renamed CJDCP. It is a medical journal devoted to the publication of researches on infectious diseases, chronic diseases, injury prevention and control, and health-related events. CJDCP seeks articles related to infectious diseases, chronic diseases, injury prevention and control, and health-related events. Of particular emphasis are papers that address prevention and treatment outcomes of acute and chronic infectious diseases, chronic non-communicable diseases, injuries, mental illnesses, parasitic diseases, endemic diseases, etc. It welcomes studies on epidemiology, health statistics, environmental health, occupational health, child and adolescent health, nutrition and food hygiene, health toxicology, health promotion, health education, etc. The journal also publishes practical experience, new theories, new technologies and new methods closely related to disease prevention and control, and new advance in interdisciplinary research related to public health.

CJDCP was indexed by nearly 20 kinds of important database at home and abroad, including Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), a Guide to the Core Journals of China, the key magazine of China technology, RCCSE Chinese Core Journals (8/105, A), China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database, China Core Journal Alternative Database, American chemical abstracts (CA), Ulrichsweb, the Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM), etc.

CJDCP has been awarded as the excellent periodical of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association series Magazine and the excellent scientific and technological periodical of Anhui Province for several continuous years. CJDCP was awarded as the excellent periodical executed by CAJ-CD Standard in 2001. CJDCP was awarded as the 1st term of excellent periodical of National Health and Family Planning Commission in 2013. CJDCP was selected as the 4th China Boutique Scientific and Technological Periodical in 2017.
