Prof Wu is currently the director of Cell Physiology and Aging Research group, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Surrey. Prior to the current post, he also held a senior academic post for most of time at University College London. Prof Wu obtained Bachelor of Medicine in Public Health, MD in Occupational Medicine and PhD in Pharmacology. He has a wide background in both basic science and public health. Prof Wu has led many key research projects and has been awarded many prestigious UK and US research grants. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed international journals. His team has made several seminal contributions to the field and has won 5 international research prizes. His current research is in aging, chronic diseases and health, with focus on inflammation and oxidative stress.
